Arcades portraits: Ashli from Spillers Records

May I present a set of portraits of the owner one of the most iconic and celebrated shops in Cardiff, Spillers Records.

Ashli and her sister, Grace, bought Spillers from their Dad and have been running the shop since it moved to the Morgan Arcade back in 2010.

Always supportive of the project, pretty much from the beginning, it was a delight to photograph Ashli in the various locations around the wonderful store.

If you don’t know much about Spillers, it’s probably safe to assume you’re not from Cardiff… for it is the oldest record shop in the world, and quite simply it’s awesome. If you haven’t checked it out yet… make sure you pop by the next time you’re in town.

Coming up soon is Record Store Day 2012, which if it’s anything like last year (see pictures here) will be an absolute blast… look out for the images in April.

A dedicated post of shop owner portraits is something I’m considering making a semi-regular feature – feel free to let me know what you think.

I’ve already published my main story on Spillers Records, so if you want to know more about the business, head on over to the original post.
